Success Story.
Upgrading Legacy sites from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013
Headquartered in the US, the client is a leading manufacturer of assorted speciality cleaning and maintenance products from special floor-scrubbing machines to heavy-duty stripping machines.
The challenge
With existing systems facing the end of life, the client wanted to upgrade their legacy sites from SharePoint 2007 to the SharePoint 2013 environment.
They required a new look & feel of its sites for branding purposes and wanted options for enhancements to automate business functions and processes. The client was facing limitations in automating new business processes and their server had reached its end-of-life support date. The client needed customization options for their processes too.
The solution
Team YASH Technologies first performed all activities on the test environment and then moved to the production environment and proposed to perform the upgrade in two phases. The first phase included Requirement Analysis and the second phase included upgrading the existing SharePoint 2007 to the SharePoint 2013 environment. Based on the architecture envisioned in the planning phase of the engagement, the team implemented a proof of concept, carried the upgrade process and further optimized the upgraded environment with thorough validations and testing.
Business impact
Equipped with the latest version of Microsoft Office, the client was empowered with enhanced backup, server management and data handling. This not only eased the finding of information, but also led to a reduction of data redundancy with better management in terms of backup, restoration and data handling.
